STILLWATER – The Stillwater Police Department Special Projects Team conducted a traffic stop recently that led to officers finding nearly 20 pounds of methamphetamine. According to a release from the department, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of 5600 S. Perkins Rd. on the afternoon of March 2, and during the stop a canine officer, Rotex, alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics. A subsequent search led officers to find nine kilos of meth with an estimated street value in excess of $177,000 and a loaded semi-automatic pistol.
